This artwork captures the iconic Faro de Maspalomas, one of the most recognizable landmarks of Gran Canaria, standing proudly at the southern tip of the island where the Atlantic Ocean meets the famous Maspalomas dunes.
Built in the late 19th century and inaugurated in 1890, the lighthouse has guided ships navigating the waters between Europe, Africa and the Canary Islands for more than a century. Rising nearly 60 meters high, the tower became a maritime reference point for vessels crossing the Atlantic routes.
The lighthouse is located beside the Dunas de Maspalomas Nature Reserve, one of the most unique landscapes in the Canary Islands. The surrounding beaches, golden dunes and ocean views have made this area one of the most celebrated coastal settings of the archipelago.
Printed on premium 100% cotton canvas, this artwork reflects the atmosphere of a sunset along the southern coast of Gran Canaria. The composition evokes the calm of the Atlantic shoreline and the timeless presence of the Maspalomas lighthouse, a symbol of the island’s maritime history and coastal landscape.
